"that you may be able to withstand in the evil day" (6:13). What is the evil day?

The verse doesn't say. It says only, "Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." (6:13). It doesn't say which day it means, or when it comes, and these notes don't say either.

Ephesians 6: Strong in the Lord

The letter's last turn begins, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might" (6:10), and behind the strength of his might are the same three Greek words as in the prayer of chapter 1 (1:19). The letter that opened "Grace to you and peace" (1:2) closes with peace (6:23) and grace (6:24).
