2 Corinthians 1 · a question people ask
The verse doesn't explain the words. It says they "abound to us", and it sets beside them, "even so our comfort also abounds through Christ" (1:5). The chapter says no more of what "the sufferings of Christ" are, and these notes don't either.

2 Corinthians 1 opens by blessing "the Father of mercies and God of all comfort" (1:3), and in five verses the WEB has comfort, comforts or comforted ten times. Then it says of the promises of God, "in him is the “Yes.”" (1:20).
