2 Corinthians 1 · a question people ask
"When I therefore planned this, did I show fickleness?" (1:17). What does the chapter say next?
It asks a second question, "Or the things that I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”" (1:17), and then speaks of God: "But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not “Yes and no.”" (1:18). Then it speaks of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who "was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”" (1:19). The chapter tells the plan (1:15-16) and asks its questions (1:17); these notes say nothing of what came of the plan, and set no other passage beside these verses.
