1 Corinthians 1 · a question people ask

"I follow Christ." (1:12) stands with the other three sayings. Was that one right?

The chapter doesn't say. It gives the four sayings together, as what "each one of you says" (1:12), and says nothing about the saying "I follow Christ" (1:12) on its own. These notes say no more of who said which saying, or why, than the verses do, and apply none of the four to any church, group or person today.

1 Corinthians 1: Christ crucified

1 Corinthians 1 names Christ in every one of its first ten verses but one, and then asks, "Is Christ divided?" (1:13). It goes on to "the word of the cross" (1:18) and "Christ crucified" (1:23), and ends, "He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord." (1:31).
