The letter tells Titus, "But say the things which fit sound doctrine" (2:1), and chapter 1 speaks of sound doctrine too (1:9). It gives no definition of it, and these notes don't give one either.

Titus 2: The grace of God has appeared

In Titus 2 the grace of God that "has appeared" (2:11) is also "instructing us" (2:12), and behind instructing is a verb Strong's gives first as training up a child. And the chapter's sound words, in "sound doctrine" (2:1) and "soundness of speech" (2:8), are words Strong's gives first of health.
