Revelation 19 · a question people ask

"Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb." (19:9). What is the wedding supper, and who is invited?

In the text

Here is the verse as the WEB has it: "He said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb.’” He said to me, “These are true words of God.”" (19:9). It calls those who are invited "Blessed" (19:9), John is told to write that down, and he is told, "These are true words of God." (19:9). Beyond these words, the chapter doesn't say what the supper is or who is invited, and these notes don't either.

From Favor's study of Revelation 19

Revelation 19: Hallelujah

In this chapter the call to praise comes from the throne: "A voice came from the throne, saying, “Give praise to our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, the small and the great!”" (19:5). And when John is told to write the blessing, he is also told, "These are true words of God." (19:9).
