"upholding all things by the word of his power" (1:3). What does the letter say this means?
The letter doesn't explain it, and these notes don't either. Here is the verse whole: "His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, who, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high," (1:3). These are the letter's own words, as it gives them, and these notes add nothing to them and choose nothing.
