Acts 15 · a question people ask
Peter asks, "why do you tempt God, that you should put a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?" (15:10). What is the yoke?
Peter doesn't name it beyond the words of the verse. He says them when "The apostles and the elders were gathered together to see about this matter." (15:6). Right after, he says, "But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they are." (15:11). The chapter says no more about the yoke, and these notes don't name it or apply it to anyone today.
