The verse says, "Demetrius has the testimony of all, and of the truth itself; yes, we also testify" (1:12). These notes don't explain it further than the verse's own words, and they set no other verse beside it.

3 John is from "The elder to Gaius the beloved" (1:1). It tells him, "you do a faithful work in whatever you accomplish for those who are brothers and strangers" (1:5), and it says, "We therefore ought to receive such, that we may be fellow workers for the truth." (1:8).
