1 Peter 1 · a question people ask
"In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing" (1:8). How can they love one they don't now see?
The verse before ends, "at the revelation of Jesus Christ" (1:7), and 1:8 goes on, "whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory" (1:8). The verse sets yet believing beside though now you don’t see him, and these notes say no more of it than the verse does.
The verses
“that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ— whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,”
