Revelation 10: A little open book

Read Revelation 10:1-11 before you meet.

In a few lines

The angel stands "on the sea and on the land" (10:5), and swears by him "who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it" (10:6). Standing on the sea and the land, he swears by the one who created the sea and the earth and everything in them.

The verse to carry

“I saw a mighty angel coming down out of the sky, clothed with a cloud. A rainbow was on his head. His face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire.”

Revelation 10:1

To talk about

  1. 1. John was about to write, and a voice told him, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders said, and don’t write them." (10:4) How do you live with questions that aren't answered for you?

  2. 2. Before John ate the little book, the angel told him what it would do: "It will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey." (10:9) Then John took it and ate it (10:10). When has knowing ahead of time how something would go made a difference to you?

  3. 3. The angel swore by him "who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it" (10:6). How does it change the way you look at the sky, the land or the sea to remember who created them?
