Psalm 65: Praise waits for you
Read Psalm 65:1-13 before you meet.
In a few lines
Psalm 65 begins with praise that "waits" (65:1), a Hebrew word for stillness, and ends, "They shout for joy! They also sing" (65:13). And one Hebrew verb, kun, has God forming the mountains (65:6) and providing the grain (65:9).
The verse to carry
“You crown the year with your bounty. Your carts overflow with abundance.”
Psalm 65:11
To talk about
1. "Praise waits for you, God, in Zion" (65:1). Where in your week is there room to be still before God, before the words and the songs?
2. "Sins overwhelmed me, but you atoned for our transgressions" (65:3). What difference does it make to you that the verse ends with what God has done, and not with the sins?
3. "You crown the year with your bounty" (65:11). Looking back over this past year, what has God given that you would call his bounty?
