Psalm 149: In the assembly of the saints
Read Psalm 149:1-9 before you meet.
In a few lines
Psalm 149 begins and ends with the saints, "the assembly of the saints" (149:1) and "All his saints have this honor" (149:9): one word, chasid, and no other psalm has it three times. And the WEB's two honors are two Hebrew words: kavod in 149:5 and hadar in 149:9.
The verse to carry
“For the LORD takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation.”
Psalm 149:4
To talk about
1. "Sing to the LORD a new song" (149:1). What has God done in your life lately that you could thank him for in words you haven't used before?
2. "For the LORD takes pleasure in his people" (149:4). What makes that easy or hard for you to believe about yourself this week?
3. Psalm 149 calls for praise in the assembly (149:1) and "on their beds" (149:5). What would praising God in an ordinary place of your day look like this week?
