Luke 22: As one who serves
Read Luke 22:1-71 before you meet.
In a few lines
In Luke, the verse after they question "which of them it was who would do this thing" (22:23) says, "A dispute also arose among them, which of them was considered to be greatest" (22:24), and Jesus says, "I am among you as one who serves" (22:27). And only Luke tells that when the rooster crowed, "The Lord turned and looked at Peter" (22:61).
The verse to carry
“but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.”
Luke 22:32
To talk about
1. When "A dispute also arose among them, which of them was considered to be greatest" (22:24), Jesus said, "But I am among you as one who serves" (22:27). Where could you serve someone this week in a way no one else will see?
2. Jesus told Simon, "I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail" (22:32). Who could you pray for by name this week, and what would you ask for them?
3. "Then Peter remembered the Lord’s word" (22:61). Which words of Jesus would you most want to remember when you are under pressure?
