Luke 16: A certain rich man

Read Luke 16:1-31 before you meet.

In a few lines

Both of the tellings in Luke 16 begin with "a certain rich man" (16:1, 16:19). And Jesus's "they may receive you into the eternal tents" (16:9) has some of the manager's own words, "they may receive me into their houses" (16:4): in Greek, the same words for so that when and they may receive.

The verse to carry

“He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”

Luke 16:10

To talk about

  1. 1. Jesus said, "He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much" (16:10). What is one small thing you could be faithful in this week?

  2. 2. "God knows your hearts" (16:15). What difference does it make to you that God knows your heart, and not only what others see?

  3. 3. Abraham said, "They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them." (16:29). What helps you listen to what you read in the Bible?
