Genesis 40: Remember me
Read Genesis 40:1-23 before you meet.
In a few lines
In prison Joseph noticed two sad officers and interpreted their dreams, saying, "Don’t interpretations belong to God?" Pharaoh lifted up the cupbearer's head to restore him and the baker's to hang him, just as Joseph said. Joseph asked the cupbearer, "remember me", but he forgot him.
The verse to carry
“They said to him, “We have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it.” Joseph said to them, “Don’t interpretations belong to God? Please tell it to me.””
Genesis 40:8
To talk about
1. Joseph noticed his fellow prisoners were sad. Who around you might need someone to notice them?
2. Joseph said, "Don’t interpretations belong to God?" How does that change how you read your own circumstances?
3. Joseph waited two more years after being forgotten. How do you wait when help seems to have forgotten you?
