Exodus 10: Light in their dwellings
Read Exodus 10:1-29 before you meet.
In a few lines
The signs were for Israel's grandchildren as well as for Pharaoh: "that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your son’s son" (10:2). Pharaoh bargained over who could go; Moses said, "Not a hoof shall be left behind." And while Egypt sat in a darkness that could be felt, "all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings."
The verse to carry
“They didn’t see one another, and nobody rose from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.”
Exodus 10:23
To talk about
1. God told Moses the signs were so "that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your son’s son." What has God done in your life that you'd want someone younger to hear about?
2. Pharaoh kept offering to let some go but not all. Moses said, "Not a hoof shall be left behind." Is there a part of your life you'd rather keep back from God?
3. Pharaoh asked for prayer that the LORD would "take away from me this death," and once it was gone he still didn't let Israel go. When have you prayed hard for a problem to go away? What happened after it did?
