Colossians 3: Seek the things that are above
Read Colossians 3:1-4:1 before you meet.
In a few lines
Colossians 3 doesn't only say "seek the things that are above" (3:1). It goes on, "For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." (3:3). And of all it tells them to put on, it sets one above the rest: "Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection." (3:14).
The verse to carry
“Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:17
To talk about
1. "Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth." (3:2). What helps you set your mind on the things that are above in an ordinary week?
2. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another" (3:16). The verse speaks of *one another*. What could that look like in your group?
3. "Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (3:17). What is one ordinary thing in your week you could do with these words in mind?
