2 Timothy 4: Preach the word
Read 2 Timothy 4:1-22 before you meet.
In a few lines
In 2 Timothy 4, the letter tells Timothy to "fulfill your ministry" (4:5), and its I says, "But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed" (4:17): behind fulfill and fully proclaimed is one Greek verb. And the letter whose greeting gives "Grace, mercy, and peace" (1:2) says near its very end, "Grace be with you." (4:22).

“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. From now on, the crown of righteousness is stored up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.”

To talk about
1. "But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me" (4:17). When have you known strength that didn't come from you?
2. The letter ends with greetings: "Greet Prisca and Aquila" (4:19), and "Eubulus salutes you" (4:21). Who would you most like to send a greeting to this week, and why?
3. Among the last words of 2 Timothy is "Grace be with you." (4:22). Looking back over the whole letter, which words will you carry with you?
