2 Timothy 3: God-breathed

Read 2 Timothy 3:1-17 before you meet.

In a few lines

The word behind God-breathed stands in the New Testament only once, in 2 Timothy 3:16, and the next verse says to what end: "that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (3:17).

The verse to carry

“Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17

To talk about

  1. 1. "faith, patience, love, steadfastness" (3:10). Which of these would you most like to grow in, and why?

  2. 2. "Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness" (3:16). When has a passage of Scripture set you straight, and what did it change?

  3. 3. "that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (3:17). What good work would you like to be ready for this week?
