2 Timothy 1: Not ashamed
Read 2 Timothy 1:1-18 before you meet.
In a few lines
In 2 Timothy 1, ashamed in "don’t be ashamed" (1:8), "Yet I am not ashamed" (1:12) and "was not ashamed of my chain" (1:16) is one Greek verb. And the power of "but of power, love, and self-control" (1:7) is the same noun as "the power of God" in the very next verse (1:8).
The verse to carry
“For this cause I also suffer these things. Yet I am not ashamed, for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed to him against that day.”
2 Timothy 1:12
To talk about
1. "I thank God" (1:3). What is one thing you could thank God for this week?
2. "for I know him whom I have believed" (1:12). What has helped you come to know him better?
3. "our Savior, Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the Good News" (1:10). How would you put what this verse says of Christ Jesus in your own words?
