2 John 1: Walking in truth
Read 2 John 1:1-13 before you meet.
In a few lines
In 2 John, will be with us stands in two verses side by side: "it will be with us forever" (1:2), and "Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us" (1:3). And the Greek word behind paper in "with paper and ink" (1:12) stands nowhere else in the New Testament.
The verse to carry
“This is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, even as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.”
2 John 1:6
To talk about
1. "I rejoice greatly" (1:4). When has good news about someone you care for made you glad, and did you tell them?
2. "This is love, that we should walk according to his commandments." (1:6). What would it look like for you to take these words into this week?
3. "but I hope to come to you and to speak face to face, that our joy may be made full" (1:12). Who would you like to see in person soon, rather than only write to, and what could you do about it?
