2 Chronicles 26: Helped until he was strong
Read 2 Chronicles 26:1-23 before you meet.
In a few lines
2 Kings says only, "The LORD struck the king" (2 Kings 15:5). 2 Chronicles tells what came before: a king who "was marvelously helped until he was strong" (26:15) went into the temple to burn incense, and the leprosy broke out on his forehead "beside the altar of incense" (26:19).
The verse to carry
“He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the vision of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.”
2 Chronicles 26:5
To talk about
1. Uzziah "was marvelously helped until he was strong" (26:15), and "when he was strong, his heart was lifted up" (26:16). Where are you strong right now, and how do you keep seeking God there?
2. Azariah and eighty priests "resisted Uzziah the king" (26:17-18). When has someone told you a hard truth you needed, and how did you receive it?
3. When the priests spoke, "Uzziah was angry" (26:19). What does anger at being corrected look like in you, and what would it take to hear the correction instead?
