1 Timothy 1: I obtained mercy
Read 1 Timothy 1:1-20 before you meet.
In a few lines
In 1 Timothy 1, chief in "of whom I am chief" (1:15) and first in "that in me first" (1:16) are one Greek word. And behind thank in "I thank him who enabled me" (1:12), the Greek has the noun behind grace in "The grace of our Lord" (1:14).
The verse to carry
“The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.”
1 Timothy 1:15
To talk about
1. "But the goal of this command is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith" (1:5). Which of these would you most like to grow in this week, and what might help?
2. "I thank him who enabled me, Christ Jesus our Lord" (1:12). What is one thing you could thank Christ Jesus for this week?
3. "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" (1:15). How would you put what this sentence means to you in your own words?
