1 Corinthians 6: Bought with a price
Read 1 Corinthians 6:1-20 before you meet.
In a few lines
Go to law (6:1, 6:6) and judge in "the saints will judge the world" (6:2) are one Greek verb: the ones by whom "the world is judged" (6:2) are the ones who "go to law" (6:1) before unbelievers (6:6). And "You are not your own" (6:19) runs straight on into its reason, "for you were bought with a price" (6:20).
The verse to carry
“Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
To talk about
1. "Isn’t there even one wise man among you who would be able to decide between his brothers?" (6:5). What do you think helps a person decide fairly between brothers?
2. "You are not your own, for you were bought with a price." (6:19-20). Does that sound to you more like a hard word or a freeing one, and why?
3. "Therefore glorify God" (6:20). What is one ordinary part of your week in which you could glorify God?
