Revelation 3 · a question people ask
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock." (3:20). To whom are these words said?
They stand in the word that begins, "To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write" (3:14), and 3:20 goes on, "If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with me." (3:20). Right after them comes "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies." (3:22). These notes say no more of whom the words reach than these verses' own words.
