"the hidden manna" and "a white stone" (2:17). What are they?

Here is the promise as the WEB has it: "To him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows but he who receives it." (2:17). The book doesn't explain them, and these notes don't either.
