Acts 18 · a question people ask
"although he knew only the baptism of John" (18:25). What did Priscilla and Aquila explain to Apollos?
The chapter says what Apollos already had: he "had been instructed in the way of the Lord", he was "fervent in spirit", and he "spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, although he knew only the baptism of John" (18:25). Then Priscilla and Aquila "took him aside, and explained to him the way of God more accurately" (18:26). The chapter calls it "the way of God" and says no more about what they explained, and these notes don't fill it in.
The verses
“This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, although he knew only the baptism of John. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside, and explained to him the way of God more accurately.”
