1 John 2 · a question people ask
"I have not written to you because you don’t know the truth, but because you know it" (2:21). Why write, then?
The same verse goes on: "and because no lie is of the truth" (2:21). A few verses on, the letter says, "These things I have written to you concerning those who would lead you astray." (2:26) (tap astray). These notes say no more of it than the verses' words.
The verses
“I have not written to you because you don’t know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.”
“These things I have written to you concerning those who would lead you astray.”
