Romans 8: If God is for us
Read Romans 8:1-39 before you meet.
In a few lines
Romans 8 says the Spirit "makes intercession for us" (8:26), and a few verses later says of Christ, "who also makes intercession for us" (8:34). The chapter that begins with "no condemnation" (8:1) ends with nothing that "will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (8:39).
The verse to carry
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
Romans 8:1
To talk about
1. "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" (8:1). What would change in your week if you heard these words first thing each morning?
2. "for we don’t know how to pray as we ought" (8:26). When have you not known how to pray?
3. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (8:31). Where do you most need to hear these words this week?
