Romans 3: Freely, by his grace
Read Romans 3:1-31 before you meet.
In a few lines
Romans 3 asks about nullify twice: "Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?" (3:3), and "Do we then nullify the law through faith?" (3:31). Both times the answer is "May it never be!" (3:4, 3:31). And between them, after "all have sinned" (3:23), comes "being justified freely by his grace" (3:24).
The verse to carry
“for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,”
Romans 3:23-24
To talk about
1. "Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?" (3:3). Where have you seen God stay faithful when people didn't?
2. "being justified freely by his grace" (3:24). Why can something given freely be hard to receive?
3. "Where then is the boasting? It is excluded." (3:27). What are you most tempted to take credit for?
