Romans 2: No partiality with God
Read Romans 2:1-29 before you meet.
In a few lines
Romans 2 says "to the Jew first, and also to the Greek" twice in a row: once of anguish for the one who does evil (2:9), and once of glory for the one who does good (2:10). "For there is no partiality with God." (2:11). And on the day God judges "the secrets of men", he judges them "by Jesus Christ" (2:16).
The verse to carry
“Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?”
Romans 2:4
To talk about
1. "For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself." (2:1). Where do you find it easier to see a fault in someone else than in yourself?
2. "the goodness of God leads you to repentance" (2:4). How have you seen God's goodness lead someone, perhaps you, to repentance?
3. "You therefore who teach another, don’t you teach yourself?" (2:21). What is something you often tell others that you need to hear yourself?
