Revelation 2: I know your works
Read Revelation 2:1-29 before you meet.
In a few lines
To Smyrna the word says, "I know your works, oppression, and your poverty (but you are rich)" (2:9). In one breath it names what the assembly lacks and what it has.
The verse to carry
“You have perseverance and have endured for my name’s sake, and have not grown weary.”
Revelation 2:3
To talk about
1. "I know your works, and your toil and perseverance" (2:2). Whose quiet, faithful work have you noticed lately, and how could you thank them?
2. "you left your first love" (2:4). In a life of faith, what can make a first love fade, and what helps it stay?
3. "You hold firmly to my name" (2:13). When is it hardest to hold firmly to his name, and what helps you then?
