Psalm 96: Say among the nations
Read Psalm 96:1-13 before you meet.
In a few lines
Psalm 96 says Sing to the LORD three times and Ascribe to the LORD three times, and sends the praise out: "Declare his glory among the nations" (96:3). And it says "for he comes" twice (96:13), where the same line in 1 Chronicles 16:33 and the close of Psalm 98 say it once.
The verse to carry
“Sing to the LORD! Bless his name! Proclaim his salvation from day to day!”
Psalm 96:2
To talk about
1. "Proclaim his salvation from day to day!" (96:2). What has God done for you that you could tell someone about this week, and what makes that hard?
2. "Sing to the LORD a new song!" (96:1). If you put your thanks to God into fresh words today, what would they say?
3. The psalm calls the heavens and the earth to be glad because the LORD "comes to judge the earth" (96:13). Does the thought of God judging the world bring you gladness, unease, or both, and why?
