Psalm 9: A high tower for the oppressed
Read Psalm 9:1-20 before you meet.
In a few lines
"The LORD reigns forever" (9:7) has, in Hebrew, the verb of "You sit on the throne" (9:4): the LORD sits forever, and "He has prepared his throne for judgment" (9:7). And the psalm's "He will judge the world in righteousness" (9:8) is, in the WEB, word for word what Paul told Athens God will do "by the man whom he has ordained" (Acts 17:31).
The verse to carry
“Those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.”
Psalm 9:10
To talk about
1. "I will tell of all your marvelous works" (9:1). What has God done in your life that you could tell someone about this week?
2. "A high tower in times of trouble" (9:9). When trouble comes, where do you usually turn first?
3. "The needy shall not always be forgotten" (9:18). Have you ever felt forgotten? What helped, or what would have helped?
