Psalm 26: I have walked in my integrity
Read Psalm 26:1-12 before you meet.
In a few lines
"Examine me, LORD, and prove me. Try my heart" (26:2) has three different Hebrew verbs for testing, and no other verse in the Hebrew Bible has all three. And Psalm 26 walks through Psalm 1's first verse: walk, sit, stand, the wicked and sinners, ending "My foot stands in an even place" (26:12).
The verse to carry
“LORD, I love the habitation of your house, the place where your glory dwells.”
Psalm 26:8
To talk about
1. "Examine me, LORD, and prove me. Try my heart and my mind" (26:2). Would you ask God for that? What makes it an easy or a hard prayer for you?
2. Psalm 26 speaks of where the psalmist will not sit (26:4-5) and of the place he loves (26:8). What shapes the places and the company you choose most weeks?
3. "LORD, I love the habitation of your house" (26:8). What draws you to gather with God's people, and what keeps you away?
