Psalm 147: He heals the broken in heart
Read Psalm 147:1-20 before you meet.
In a few lines
Psalm 147 sets the one who "heals the broken in heart" (147:3) right beside the one who "counts the number of the stars" (147:4), and its "His understanding is infinite" (147:5) is, in Hebrew, there is no number, the same word as the stars' number. In Hebrew, the word that melts the snow (147:18) and the word he shows to Jacob (147:19) are the same word, davar.
The verse to carry
“He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.”
Psalm 147:3
To talk about
1. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (147:3), right beside "He counts the number of the stars" (147:4). Where do you, or someone you love, need to hear that this week?
2. The LORD doesn't delight in "the strength of the horse" but takes pleasure "in those who hope in his loving kindness" (147:10-11). Where are you most tempted to lean on your own strength right now?
3. "He shows his word to Jacob" (147:19). How has God's word reached you, and who first put it in front of you?
