Psalm 111: The LORD's works are great

Read Psalm 111:1-10 before you meet.

In a few lines

In Hebrew, Psalm 111 runs through all 22 letters of the alphabet in order, from "I will give thanks" (111:1) to "His praise" (111:10). And its "redemption" (111:9) is pedut, a word the Hebrew Bible has only four times: in Egypt the WEB gives it as the "division" the LORD put between his people and Pharaoh's (Exodus 8:23).

The verse to carry

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!”

Psalm 111:10

To talk about

  1. 1. "The LORD’s works are great, pondered by all those who delight in them" (111:2). What has God done, in Scripture or in your own life, that you'd like to take time to ponder this week?

  2. 2. "He has caused his wonderful works to be remembered" (111:4). What helps you remember what God has done, and what makes you forget?

  3. 3. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom" (111:10). What might fearing the LORD look like in an ordinary day of yours?
