Proverbs 19: Many plans, one counsel
Read Proverbs 19:1-29 before you meet.
In a few lines
Counsel in "Listen to counsel" (19:20) and in "the LORD’s counsel will prevail" (19:21) is one Hebrew word, in two sayings side by side. And "It is his glory to overlook an offense" (19:11) has the three Hebrew words Micah uses of God, who "passes over the disobedience" (Micah 7:18).
The verse to carry
“There are many plans in a man’s heart, but the LORD’s counsel will prevail.”
Proverbs 19:21
To talk about
1. "It is his glory to overlook an offense" (19:11). What helps you let an offense go, rather than keep hold of it?
2. "Listen to counsel and receive instruction" (19:20). Whose counsel has helped you most, and what made it easy to hear?
3. "That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness" (19:22). Think of someone whose kindness drew you to them. What did their kindness look like?
