Proverbs 17: A friend loves at all times
Read Proverbs 17:1-28 before you meet.
In a few lines
In Hebrew the glad of "He who is glad at calamity" (17:5) and the cheerful of "A cheerful heart makes good medicine" (17:22) are one word. And the friend who "loves at all times" (17:17) is the neighbor of the very next verse (17:18).
The verse to carry
“A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity.”
Proverbs 17:17
To talk about
1. "Better is a dry morsel with quietness, than a house full of feasting with strife" (17:1). When have you found that peace around a table mattered more than what was on it?
2. "He who covers an offense promotes love; but he who repeats a matter separates best friends" (17:9). Why do you think repeating a matter can do so much damage between friends?
3. "A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity" (17:17). Think of someone who stood by you in a hard time. What did they do that you still remember?
