Philippians 1: Partners in the Good News
Read Philippians 1:1-30 before you meet.
In a few lines
Philippians 1 has bonds three times and chains once, the same Greek noun each time (1:7, 1:13, 1:14, 1:16), and still says "the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News" (1:12). Of Christ proclaimed it says, "I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice." (1:18).
The verse to carry
“This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment,”
Philippians 1:9
To talk about
1. "I thank my God whenever I remember you" (1:3). Who do you find yourself thanking God for when you remember them?
2. "This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment" (1:9). Where would you like your love to grow in knowledge and discernment?
3. "are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear" (1:14). What helps you to speak without fear?
