Numbers 32: Your sin will find you out
Read Numbers 32:1-42 before you meet.
In a few lines
When Reuben and Gad said, "Don’t bring us over the Jordan" (32:5), Moses reminded them of the spies (32:8-9). They agreed to go over armed "before the LORD" first (32:20), and they did (Joshua 4:12). "Be sure your sin will find you out" (32:23) names one sin: staying behind while your brothers go to war.
The verse to carry
“But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out.”
Numbers 32:23
To talk about
1. "Shall your brothers go to war while you sit here?" (32:6). Where are you tempted to settle in while others are still carrying a load you could help with?
2. Reuben and Gad promised, "We will not return to our houses until the children of Israel have all received their inheritance" (32:18). Who are you committed to stay beside until they are through, and what does that cost you?
3. Moses told them, "do that which has proceeded out of your mouth" (32:24). What promise have you made, to God or to someone else, that you need to keep this week?
