Numbers 27: They speak right
Read Numbers 27:1-23 before you meet.
In a few lines
Five daughters asked why their father's name should be taken away (27:4), and the LORD said they "speak right" (27:7), making their case a law for all Israel (27:11). Told he would die, Moses next asked for a man for the people, so they would not be "as sheep which have no shepherd" (27:17), and the LORD named Joshua (27:18).
The verse to carry
“who may go out before them, and who may come in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in, that the congregation of the LORD may not be as sheep which have no shepherd.”
Numbers 27:17
To talk about
1. The daughters brought their question to Moses, and Moses "brought their cause before the LORD" (27:5). What question are you carrying that you could bring before the LORD, or to someone who would bring it there with you?
2. Told he would not go into the land, Moses asked for someone to lead the people after him (27:12-17). Who will carry on after you, and how are you praying for them?
3. Joshua was commissioned "before all the congregation" and "in their sight" (27:19). Who has someone publicly stood behind as they stepped into something new, and what difference did it make?
