Matthew 28: I am with you always
Read Matthew 28:1-20 before you meet.
In a few lines
The stone that had been sealed (27:66) was rolled away by an angel of the Lord, who sat on it (28:2), and he told the women, "He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said" (28:6). Jesus's last words in Matthew are "Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (28:20).
The verse to carry
“teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”
Matthew 28:20
To talk about
1. At the tomb the angel says, "Don’t be afraid" (28:5), and Jesus says it again (28:10). Where do you most need to hear those words this week?
2. The women "departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word" (28:8). When has good news about Jesus been something you couldn't keep to yourself?
3. Jesus's last words in Matthew are "Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (28:20). How might your week look different if you carried that promise into it?
