Luke 12: Rich toward God

Read Luke 12:1-59 before you meet.

In a few lines

The rich man told his soul it had goods for many years, and God said, "tonight your soul is required of you". Then Jesus told his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life", and in Luke's Greek that soul and that life are one word. The ravens have no barn, and God feeds them.

The verse to carry

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.”

Luke 12:32

To talk about

  1. 1. Jesus said, "Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom" (12:32). What would change in your week if you took those words to heart?

  2. 2. "Consider the ravens" (12:24), Jesus said, and "Consider the lilies, how they grow" (12:27). What in the world around you reminds you of God's care?

  3. 3. "Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning" (12:35). What would being ready look like for you this week?
