Leviticus 27: Holy to the LORD
Read Leviticus 27 before you meet.
In a few lines
Leviticus ends with what is given to the LORD. A person vowed was valued in silver (27:2-8); an animal, house, field or tithe bought back cost a fifth more (27:13, 27:15, 27:19, 27:31). No one could dedicate a firstborn: "It is the LORD’s" (27:26). A devoted thing couldn't be redeemed (27:28), and the tithe was "holy to the LORD" (27:30).
The verse to carry
“‘All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the LORD’s. It is holy to the LORD.”
Leviticus 27:30
To talk about
1. A person vowed to the LORD was valued in silver (27:2-8), and whoever vowed a vow "shall not break his word" (Numbers 30:2). Is there a promise you've made to God that you need to keep?
2. "All the tithe of the land… is the LORD’s" (27:30). How would your giving change if you started from what already belongs to God?
3. You've reached the end of Leviticus. What has it shown you about coming near a holy God?
