Leviticus 15: Until the evening
Read Leviticus 15 before you meet.
In a few lines
Leviticus 15 never calls the body's discharges sin. Most meant washing and waiting "until the evening" (15:5); one that went on ended with seven days and two birds on the eighth. Its reason is the LORD's "tabernacle that is among them" (15:31). And a woman with "a discharge of blood for twelve years" (Mark 5:25) touched Jesus and heard, "Daughter" (Mark 5:34).
The verse to carry
“Thus you shall separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness, so they will not die in their uncleanness when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.”
Leviticus 15:31
To talk about
1. The chapter keeps naming a way back: "until the evening" (15:5), or seven days and then "shall be clean" (15:13). Why does it matter to know there is a way back?
2. The woman in the crowd came "fearing and trembling" and "told him all the truth" (Mark 5:33), and Jesus called her "Daughter" (Mark 5:34). What makes it hard to bring Jesus something you'd rather keep hidden?
3. The chapter's reason is the LORD's "tabernacle that is among them" (15:31). What would change in an ordinary week if you lived remembering that God is near?
