Job 12: With God is wisdom and might
Read Job 12:1-25 before you meet.
In a few lines
Job 12:9 is the only place in all the speeches, outside the book's own headings, where the WEB prints the LORD: "the LORD’s hand has done this", in the same Hebrew words as Isaiah 41:20. And two of Job's lines on God humbling the great, 12:21 and 12:24, stand together, in the same Hebrew words, in one psalm verse (Psalm 107:40).
The verse to carry
“With God is wisdom and might. He has counsel and understanding.”
Job 12:13
To talk about
1. "I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor" (12:4). Have you ever felt looked down on while you were going through something hard? What helped, and what didn't?
2. "In the thought of him who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune" (12:5). When life is going well for you, how do you keep from looking down on someone who is struggling?
3. "But ask the animals now, and they will teach you" (12:7). Where in the world God made have you been reminded of him, and what did it teach you?
