Isaiah 52: Your God reigns
Read Isaiah 52:1-15 before you meet.
In a few lines
In Hebrew in haste comes only three times in the Hebrew Bible: the first Passover's "you shall eat it in haste" (Exodus 12:11), "you came out of the land of Egypt in haste" (Deuteronomy 16:3), and "you shall not go out in haste" (Isaiah 52:12), where the LORD goes before and the God of Israel is the rear guard.
The verse to carry
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!””
Isaiah 52:7
To talk about
1. Zion is told, "Shake yourself from the dust! Arise" (52:2). What would it look like for a word from God to help someone get up again?
2. "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news" (52:7). Who brought you good news about God, and what did it mean to you?
3. "for the LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard" (52:12). Where do you want to remember this week that God goes before you and behind you?
