Isaiah 3: Supply and support
Read Isaiah 3:1-26 before you meet.
In a few lines
In Hebrew, "takes away" (3:1) and "will take away" (3:18) are one verb, sur; the man who says "I will not be a healer" (3:7) refuses to bind up, the verb of the LORD who "binds up the fracture of his people" (30:26); and 3:24's "instead of" is the word of "a garland for ashes" (61:3).
The verse to carry
“Tell the righteous that it will be well with them, for they will eat the fruit of their deeds.”
Isaiah 3:10
To talk about
1. The LORD takes away "supply and support" (3:1). What does it look like to lean on God himself rather than on what he gives?
2. "I will not be a healer" (3:7). When have you seen someone step in to bind up what was broken when others stepped back?
3. "Tell the righteous that it will be well with them" (3:10). What helps you keep doing right before you see it rewarded?
